Turning back

I take a trip to past,
Every once in a while
Through those forgotten corridors,
Built of truth and lies.
Trying to find those bricks,
With traces of you and mine
And the point where we separated,
Trying to realign.
No matter how hard I attempt,
I fail to erase, the stains of grime
And all those shadows of contempt,
No matter how hard I try,
I fail to turn back time.
