Mirror

She faces the mirror, gazing at her shadow

and the scars, left by time

recollecting that age, her past

realizing how doltish she was

that she assumed it to forever last

Those days when she was

so young and pretty

when poets wrote sonnets

to describe her flawless beauty

though now they all seem liarsmirror

all the poets and admirers

as she peeps her wrinkled face-

on the faithful mirror.
