A statue in the middle of a busy road.
I stand on a street,
amongst those myriads that have been laid,
glimpsing at the shades of this world,
as they appear and then slowly fade.
I have not been here long,
though I see around emotions strong,
love, jealousy, hatred all together,
good and bad surviving along.
Their lives are so very busy,
they don’t have time for themselves,
so lost in acquiring materialistic guises,
they’ve forgotten the soul that dwells.
and I stand here observing them,
I can move never,
cursed to look as they lose their souls,
I shall look after them forever.
