Its darkness that shines afar (will-o-wisp)

WILL-O-WISP

She stood by the shore

reaching for light

her eyes at the horizon

leaping for a flight.

But as she gets closer,

the light shines further,

extends arms for a grip

who? shall catch a ‘will o wisp’.

Her pessimist heart tries again,

unfortunately all in vain,

moist wind speaks her pain,

empty life, filled with disdain.

It’s the darkness that shines afar,

she mistook as a word apart,

now it’s too late to retreat,

that too with a shattered heart.
